Subtle lines, glass dominance
When developing the system the company strives to maximally reduce profile dimensions while increasing their strength. The main design goal is to create a frameless sliding-opening system where aluminium profiles form subtle lines that do not visually disrupt the space. The dominant proportion of glass gives the feeling of being outdoors even when inside.
The entire enclosure is installed on a bottom profile 5 cm wide and a top profile 7 cm wide. The bottom profile can be completely built in and hidden in the floor. This means there are no protruding thresholds that could be an obstacle — for example when stepping out into the garden.
OPENING AND CLOSING
Various opening and closing solutions
Low enclosure on a balustrade or wall is opened with a pull-up handle. Subsequent panels are slid and opened using handles mounted in the bottom rail of each panel.
Tall enclosure can be opened with a pull-up handle or a full lock with a single or double-sided handle, usually installed where entry from outside is possible. A cylinder and key additionally allow the enclosure to be fully locked.
Special handles can be fitted on tall panels to keep the glass clean. Some clients prefer an unobstructed view through the glass — in that case we do not install handles. Additionally, transparent sealing strips can be fitted between panels — they can be applied by the user in winter to increase thermal comfort.
LIGHTING
Built-in LED lighting in the roof rafters allows the enclosed space to be used without time restrictions.
BLINDS
A beneficial addition to the system is the installation of dedicated blinds for each panel, independently adjustable up and down — on both side walls and the glass roof.
SAFETY
Certified materials, guaranteed safety
All Lumon products hold certificates and approvals for use in construction. Extruded aluminium profiles are made from high-quality structural aluminium, powder-coated in any RAL colour.
Glass in the sliding system is safe, tempered glass. Roof glass consists of laminated layers of safe tempered glass. All of this guarantees safe everyday use.
